What a week in Tallinn

The 2026 European Disc Golf Festival is officially in the books.

From the Presidents Cup to four days of Major disc golf, live music, festival life and packed fairways at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, this was a week we will remember for a long time.

The week started with the PDGA Presidents Cup, where Team USA and Team Europe met in Tallinn for one of the sport’s most exciting team battles.

This year’s format brought even more FPO players into the spotlight, adding new matchups, new energy and even more reasons for the crowd to get loud. Team Europe came ready and gave Team USA a proper fight in front of the Tallinn crowd, but in the end, Team USA once again showed why they have been so hard to beat.

After a long evening of battles, clutch shots and plenty of team spirit, Team USA stayed unbeaten and lifted the Presidents Cup trophy for the 14th time.

After that, it was time for the European Open. The event came to Estonia as Europe’s only PDGA Major of 2026 and, for the first time in its history, was held outside Finland. Tallinn gave it a new home, and the world’s best players gave us a show worthy of the stage.

In FPO, Eveliina Salonen delivered under pressure and became the 2026 European Open champion. She closed the tournament with a 1031-rated final round, won by four strokes and completed the PDGA Major career grand slam. Behind her, the future of European FPO looked very bright as 14-year-old Julia Fors finished second and 15-year-old Kristýna Jurčíková took third.

In MPO, Gannon Buhr continued his incredible season. He built a strong lead on Saturday, held off a final-round charge from Ricky Wysocki and claimed the European Open title by four strokes. Wysocki finished second, while Gavin Babcock and Teemu Lampainen shared third place.

There were plenty of moments beyond the trophies too. Keiti Tätte and Roland Kõur both hit aces in round one, giving the home crowd something very special to celebrate. Joona Heinänen and Cole Redalen added two more aces during the final round. Mauri Villmann finished tied for 9th in MPO as the best Estonian in the field, while the young European players in FPO showed that the next chapter of the sport is already arriving fast.

But none of this happens alone.

First and most importantly, thank you to our volunteers. This event simply would not be possible without you. From early mornings to long days on the course, from helping players and spectators to solving problems most people never even saw, you were the heart of the festival.

Thank you to every player who came to Tallinn and gave the crowd something to cheer for. Thank you to the caddies, teams, officials, staff, media crews, vendors, artists and everyone working behind the scenes.

Thank you to the PDGA, Disc Golf Network, PDGA Europe and the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds for helping bring this event to life.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors and partners for believing in this event and helping us build something bigger than just a disc golf tournament.

And of course, thank you to the fans. Whether you followed the lead card, watched from home, brought your family, discovered disc golf for the first time or spent the whole week at the Song Festival Grounds, you helped make this week what it was.

European Disc Golf Festival will return. See you next year!
